The Cowichan Valley

EXPLORE the WestCoast

Duncan is in the heart of the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. This area is known as the "Warm Land" by our First Nations peoples and is rich with forests, beaches, vineyards, rivers and outdoor adventure. Our valley is beautiful, the people are friendly and our community is safe.

Students boarding at Queen Margaret's School are within easy walking distance to
  • shopping
  • street markets
  • restaurants
  • coffee shops (such as Starbucks & Tim Hortons)
  • a movie theatre
  • indoor pool facility
  • bowling
  • an ice arena
  • dance studios
  • tennis courts
  • a regional library
  • medical facilities
  • churches and places of worship
  • and financial institutions.
Residents of our community have a variety of activities to enjoy outside such as year-round golf, scenic biking and hiking trails and we are only a short drive to ski at stunning Mt. Washington Ski Resort in Comox.

The Cowichan Valley is a wonderful destination to study, learn and live.
It's years later and QMS still feels very much like home. I was fortunate enough to make some incredible friends both with the students and faculty, and I still maintain many of them today.
